Hey, how have you all been lately?
So, during this lazy afternoon, I’ve been navigating thru YouTube, watching some videos about sound design, and I stumbled across a great one, where Henry Daw talks about the importance of the UI/UX sound design, and how it should be more valued under the design industry.
For you who doesn’t know Henry, he has worked as an in-house sound designer for Nokia and Microsoft for 13 years, and in 2015 he opened his own company, Oblique Sounds.
In this video, Henry talk about 5 important principles for successful sound design:
- Design for Speaker Context
- Design Holistically
- Don’t Over-Design
- Design Silence
- Same Design Principles for All
It’s a very interesting video, not just for people that want to get more in the UX/UI sound design, but for the game audio folks also, since we all need to do those UI sounds once in a while.
Hope you’ve enjoyed it! š
